Stunning Examples of Long Exposure Photography

A long exposure can show you the evolution of various things and how time affects everything. To obtain a perfect long exposure photo, you need to follow a few basic rules. Here are three of them:
1. Long-exposure photography is often used in a night-time setting in order to produce a near daytime effect in the photo. By leaving the camera’s shutter open for an extended period of time, more light is absorbed, creating a brighter product. If the camera is stationary for the entire period of time that the shutter is open, a very vibrant and clear photograph can be produced.
2. For light painting technique, a scene is kept very dark and the photographer or an assistant takes a light source—it can be small penlight—and moves it about in patterns. The light source can be turned off between strokes. Often, stationary objects in the scene are illuminated by briefly turning on studio lights, by one or more flashes from a strobe light, or by increasing the aperture.
3. Long exposures can blur moving water so it has mist-like qualities while keeping stationary objects like land and structures sharp.
In this article you can see 27 stunning examples of long exposure photos which will definitely capture your attention.

STRANGE STUFF ON A CATHEDRAL

These are just some pictures circulating the Internet and in e-mails. And they show a Cathedral of Salamancawith something completely unusual on its wall  an astronaut. All of this wouldn't be so strange if the cathedral wasn't built in 12th century, in the time astronauts didn't even exist, so it remained mysteryhow did he get there.

Top 10 Asteroid Impacts On Earth

10. Clearwater Lakes

Clearwater Lake Asteroid
The Clearwater lakes are twin lakes that formed at the same exact time in Northern Canada. The asteroids that made them were huge, at 16 miles and 22 miles respectively. The lakes are named after their clear water; that, and the fact that there are 25 lakes in the area also called “Clearwater lake” really says something about Canadian creativity. No one’s sure how two large asteroids managed to hit the same area at the same time. One expert says it may be because asteroids have their own small moons, or it may be that it used to be one big asteroid and split in two in our atmosphere.

Incredible Finger Paintings by Judith Braun

As strange as it sounds, New York-based artist Judith Braun creates all these wonderful landscapes and abstract patterns using nothing but her fingers dipped in charcoal dust. Braun says that she often uses her both hands simultaneously to the extent of arms’ reach as this allows the inherent symmetry of the body to generate a gestural vocabulary of mark making.
“Abstraction keeps the images free to be anything, while the symmetry resolves that fluidity into something, like liquid energy crystallizing. The crystal metaphor is also reflected in the carbon medium of graphite that, under heat and pressure, becomes a diamond. Working within constraints prompts a proliferation of possibilities that self organize into groups and subgroups, from which I then choose some to render carefully by hand…with diamond dust.”
